Why does it take me so much less time to build muscle than it takes other people to build muscle?
I always see those commercials stating that their product will give you “flatter abs in 3 weeks!” and “chiseled calfs in 1 month!”, but it always takes me so much less time. If I make a point to do a moderate core workout (some planks, sit-ups, a little yoga ball stuff) for 7 days, I’ll have a flat, toned stomach by the end of the week. If I run fairly hard for 15 days, taking a few days off for muscle repair, I’ll have extremely strong calf muscles.
I’m a 17-year-old girl with a very fast metabolism. The only sport I do is distance running, but I run a lot. I know that metabolism determines a lot about your physique (I’m moderate height… 5′4″, but I’m very lean and I get lean muscle), but does it have anything to do with how quickly you build muscle?
I’m not trying to brag here, I swear. I’m just curious. I genuinely want to learn more about Nutrition and exercise.
